Neuropsychiatry
Neuropsychiatry is a branch of medicine which focuses on the relationship between the brain, behaviour, and mental health. It is a field of research, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. Neuropsychiatry helps those with mental problems by focusing on the biological origin of their condition. Through the use of medical imaging and various testing techniques, practitioners can identify and diagnose brain impairments, diseases, or conditions which may be impacting a person's mental health. Treatment options can then be tailored to address these underlying issues. Neuropsychiatry is a rapidly growing field as more research into the connection between brain and mental health continues to be conducted. Its importance lies in its ability to not just alleviate mental health symptoms, but to treat the root cause of these illnesses, thus improving individuals' quality of life.
