Neuropathy

Neuropathy is a condition in which the peripheral nerves of the body are damaged or dysfunctional. It can lead to a wide variety of symptoms and affect different parts of the body. Common symptoms include pain, numbness and tingling, and muscle weakness. Neuropathy has a variety of causes, including diabetes, HIV, alcoholism, tumors, and vitamin deficiencies. Treatment is typically focused on managing symptoms and can include medications, lifestyle modifications, and physical therapy. In some cases, surgery may be needed. Neuropathy is an important condition that can have significant impacts on a person’s quality of life. Early diagnosis and treatment can improve symptoms and quality of life.
