Neurological Disorders
Neurological disorders are conditions that relate to the nervous system and its ability to function properly. Examples include Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease. These diseases can affect the individual's ability to move, think, remember, talk and feel. Understanding and treating neurological disorders is incredibly important as they can be debilitating and often result in a reduced quality of life. Medical professionals may use a variety of treatments, including surgery, medications and lifestyle changes, to manage the symptoms of neurological disorders. Research is also being conducted to better understand the mechanisms of neurological diseases, which will hopefully lead to new treatments in the future.
