Nephroureterectomy

Nephroureterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove a kidney and the surrounding ureter. The procedure is used to treat advanced bladder cancer, as the tumor often extends into the upper urinary tract. During the procedure, the surgeon removes the entire kidney and ureter, along with any affected lymph nodes, and the lining of the bladder. Due to its effectiveness in treating advanced bladder cancer, nephroureterectomy is a critical procedure for cancer patients with this condition. Additionally, the procedure can also be used to diagnose and treat kidney stones and bladder trauma.
