Nephroptosis

Nephroptosis is a condition in which one kidney drops from its normal position in the abdomen and may hang down too low. It is caused by a weakening of the ligaments and muscles that usually hold the kidney in place. Nephroptosis can cause pain, as well as problems in the urinary tract and other symptoms. Treatment may involve exercises and lifestyle modifications, along with surgery in more serious cases. Diagnosis is typically done through imaging tests such as an ultrasound, CT scan, and MRI. Treatment of nephroptosis is important for controlling pain, avoiding complications, and maintaining good kidney function.
