Dysuria

Dysuria, also known as painful urination, is a medical condition where a person experiences pain, burning, or discomfort when urinating. This symptom can be caused by a variety of conditions, including urinary tract infections, kidney stones, bladder infections, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and interstitial cystitis. Dysuria can also be a sign of other underlying medical conditions, such as diabetes, that need to be ruled out by a healthcare provider. Treatment options depend on the cause of the dysuria and may include antibiotics, medications to relax the bladder muscles, and dietary changes. Early diagnosis and treatment of dysuria can help prevent more serious complications such as recurrent urinary tract infections, kidney infections, and an increased risk of bladder cancer.
