Seborrhoeic Warts

Seborrhoeic warts are small, benign skin growths that can appear on the face, scalp, neck and chest. They are caused by a virus, known as Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and are common in adolescents and adults. They are usually harmless and do not cause any symptoms, although they can become irritated if scratched or rubbed. Seborrhoeic warts can be treated with various topical creams and ointments that contain virus-fighting agents. In some cases, surgical excision of the warts may be necessary. Prevention is key, so it is important to maintain good hygiene habits and to avoid skin-to-skin contact with people who have the virus.
