Molecular Oncology
Molecular Oncology is an interdisciplinary field that combines molecular genetics and cell biology with the clinical practice of medicine to study the molecular basis of cancer. With the help of this field, it is possible to identify the causes and the mechanisms of cancer development, diagnose cancer more precisely, test drugs for their effectiveness and resistance, and to develop new drugs specifically targeting cancer cells. This knowledge allows for a more personalized and effective approach to cancer care and treatment, as it helps to identify which treatment will be most beneficial for each patient. It is also possible to use Molecular Oncology to tailor preventive strategies for those at risk of developing cancer.
