Cancer Survivorship
Cancer survivorship is the period of life after a person has been diagnosed and treated for cancer. During this time, survivors may experience physical, mental, and emotion challenges. It is important to explore ways to improve quality of life and prevent future health problems related to cancer survivorship. Medical professionals, public health practitioners, and researchers have identified a number of evidence-based interventions that can be used to support and enhance survivorship, such as healthy lifestyle modifications, psychosocial support, and medical monitoring. Such interventions have been found to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of survivors, as well as reduce the risk of cancer recurrence, improve care coordination, and improve overall quality of life.
