Epidemiological Methods and Statistics
Epidemiological methods and statistics are a set of tools used for studying disease patterns, risk factors and health outcomes in populations. This information can be used to plan and evaluate public health interventions, inform policy and clinical decisions, and monitor outbreaks of infectious diseases. Epidemiologic methods and statistics can be used to identify risk factors, describe and measure the burden of disease, identify causes for disease, and evaluate the effectiveness of preventive interventions and treatments. In other words, epidemiology and statistics provide the evidence-based foundation for public health decision-making and policy development.
