Tension Headache
A tension headache is a type of headache that is caused by muscle tension in the head, neck, and sometimes the face. This type of headache is the most common type of headache and usually presents with a feeling of pressure or a tight band around the head. Tension headaches can lead to further medical issues if not treated appropriately such as depressed mood, difficulty in concentration, and decreased productivity. Treatments range from relaxation techniques, gentle exercise, acupuncture and some medications. Effective management of tension headaches is important to improve overall quality of life and prevent further chronic episodes.
