Migraine Prevention
Migraine is a neurological disorder characterized by severe, recurrent, and often disabling headaches that are often accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine is the most common neurological disorder, affecting more than 38 million Americans. Several lifestyle interventions, such as relaxation techniques and regular physical exercise, have been shown to play a role in migraine prevention. Additionally, dietary modifications such as avoiding triggers or using specific diets (such as the ketogenic diet) as well as supplements, such as vitamin B2, magnesium, and Coenzyme Q10, have been shown to reduce migraine attacks. Finally, medications such as topiramate, propranolol, and amitriptyline may be prescribed by doctors to reduce the frequency and severity of migraine attacks. By understanding and implementing the strategies mentioned above, it is possible to reduce the burden of migraine attacks and improve the quality of life of people living with this condition.
