Migraine Aura

Migraine aura is a set of neurological symptoms experienced by some people prior to the onset of a migraine headache. It typically involves visual disturbances, such as flashes of light or blind spots, or sensations such as pins and needles. It is a warning sign that a migraine attack is about to occur. It has been found to be a useful indicator of when to take preventive or abortive medication to reduce the severity or duration of the migraine attack. Migraine aura is a common medical condition affecting an estimated 10-20% of people with migraine headaches, and is an important area of research to improve patient outcomes.
