Neural Circuits

Neural circuits are the neural pathways connecting different regions of the brain. They are essential in allowing communication between cells and networks in the brain, and are responsible for complex behavior and cognition. Neural circuits are critical for the regulation of many bodily functions such as learning, memory, emotion, movement and coordination. By studying neural circuits, scientists can gain insight into how the brain works, and how diseases such as Alzheimer’s, autism, and schizophrenia affect brain function. Neural circuits are also being used to develop new treatments and therapies for brain disorders.
