Intelligence
Quotient Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is a standard measure of cognitive ability or mental age, commonly used to assess intelligence level. It is typically calculated by taking the individual's mental age, which reflects the individual's level of cognition or ‘intelligence’ and dividing it by their chronological age, and then multiplying the result by 100. IQ is used to measure individual cognitive ability across a range of areas, such as problem solving, reasoning, memory, and abstract thinking. IQ scores can also be used to assess differences between individuals, compare performances over time, and predict academic and career success.
