Holocaust

The Holocaust was a mass extermination campaign led by Nazi Germany during World War II which specifically targeted Jews and other minority groups in Europe. It killed approximately six million Jews and millions of non-Jews, including ethnic Poles, Roma, Sinti, disabled people, homosexuals, communists and Jehovah's Witnesses. The Holocaust serves as an important reminder of the need for human rights and respect for diversity, and is a reminder of the horrendous consequences of unchecked hatred, xenophobia and discrimination. Holocaust education is necessary to prevent similar atrocities from occurring in the future.
