Halo Effects
Halo effects are a cognitive phenomenon produced by positive and negative assumptions made about a person or thing based on a single trait. For example, if someone is attractive, people may also associate them with being smart and kind. Halo effects can influence decisions in many areas like job interviews, customer service, and product reviews. People tend to give more consideration to those with a positive halo effect and make assumptions about them before getting to know them or the product. The halo effect can be a beneficial or detrimental depending on the situation, so it is important to recognize and control for it.
