Eyewitness Testimony

Eyewitness testimony is a type of evidence used in criminal courts that refers to the verbal accounts of individuals who have witnessed a crime. Eyewitness testimonies are significant because they provide a firsthand account of events that took place, and as such, can provide jurors with a more complete understanding of the case. However, due to the fallibility of human memory, eyewitness testimony can be unreliable and should be used with caution. Nevertheless, when combined with other forms of evidence, such as physical evidence and testimony from experts, eyewitness testimony can be an important tool in criminal court proceedings.
