Dental Informatics

Dental Informatics is the use of information science, informatics principles and technology to improve oral health activities. It is a field of study that is dedicated to the collection and integration of data from various sources to maximize the efficiency of dental care delivery. Dental Informatics is used to develop computer applications that automate dental practice tasks, such as appointment bookkeeping, billing and insurance coding. It can also be used to analyze and improve dental services, such as patient assessment, treatment planning and tracking of services delivery. Dental Informatics helps dentists and patients to make better decisions about their care, resulting in improved health outcomes.
