Hematuria
Hematuria is the presence of blood in the urine. It can occur due to a wide variety of causes, such as kidney or bladder infections, or the use of certain medications. It can also be a sign of more serious illnesses such as kidney or bladder cancer, or infection by a virus or bacteria. This condition is usually discovered during a routine physical examination, and diagnosis of the underlying cause is essential in order to provide the most appropriate treatment. Further tests such as an ultrasound, blood test, or imaging studies may be needed to confirm the diagnosis. Early detection of hematuria is essential in order to ensure swift treatment, and ultimately, the best possible outcome.
