Genitourinary Tract Tumors
Genitourinary tract tumors are abnormal growths in the reproductive and urinary systems. They can occur in both men and women and range in severity from benign to malignant. In some cases they may be life-threatening. Common risk factors for genitourinary tumors include age, exposure to environmental carcinogens, and certain inherited genetic mutations. Diagnosis usually involves physical exams, imaging tests, and biopsies. Treatment options may involve surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or a combination of all three. Early detection and treatment of genitourinary tumors is extremely important for minimizing the potentially serious consequences associated with them.
