Fallopian Tubes
The Fallopian tubes are a pair of thin tubes located on either side of the uterus in females. They are part of the female reproductive system and their main purpose is to transport eggs from the ovaries to the uterus. The tubes are also where fertilization of the egg takes place if sexual intercourse occurs. If an egg is not fertilized, it is expelled through the Fallopian tubes and out of the body during the menstrual period. This process is crucial to reproductive health and enables conception and thus childbirth. For many couples undergoing infertility, medical attention is sought to diagnose any Fallopian tubes-related issues, offering treatment options to resolve the problem.
