Trauma Counselling
Trauma counselling is a type of psychotherapy which aims to help individuals who have experienced traumatic events in their lives. It is used to aid those struggling with the aftermath of traumatic experiences and can facilitate healing, provide insight and help the individual to develop coping strategies. Trauma counselling has been shown to be effective in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety and other mental health concerns. It can also be used in prevention and early intervention of mental health problems related to trauma. Trauma counselling can help individuals to gain insight into the events which have caused them distress, understand the impact of their traumatic experiences, increase their resilience to cope with similar experiences in the future, access support from professionals and build healthy coping skills.
