The aim of palliative care is to improve the quality of life for these individuals and their families by providing supportive and compassionate care during time of extraordinary distress. Palliative care is provided by an interdisciplinary team of specialized professionals, including doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other specialists. The goal is to help reduce pain and symptoms, provide emotional and spiritual support, and help patients and their families make the most of the time they have together.
