Journal of Medical and Psychological Trauma
Medical and psychological trauma are often categorized as two distinct types of traumatic experiences, yet they are deeply interconnected. When an individual experiences a physically traumatic event, such as a car accident or natural disaster, there is often an emotional and psychological impact as well. Similarly, psychological trauma, such as childhood abuse or combat trauma, can lead to physical health problems down the road. At the Journal of Medical and Psychological Trauma, we aim to explore the complex relationship between physical and psychological trauma. Our journal publishes research and articles on a wide range of topics related to trauma, including the long-term effects of trauma on physical and mental health, innovative approaches to trauma therapy, and the impact of trauma on different age groups and populations. Our goal is to provide a space for clinicians, researchers, and other professionals to share their expertise and insights on the many challenges associated with medical and psychological trauma. By advancing our understanding of trauma and its effects, we hope to improve the quality of treatment and care provided to trauma survivors around the world. Some of the topics we cover in our journal include: - The relationship between physical health conditions and trauma, such as chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, and cardiovascular disease - The impact of trauma on cognitive functioning, including memory, attention, and executive functioning - Innovative therapies for trauma, such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and neurofeedback - The social and cultural factors that influence trauma, including gender, race, and socioeconomic status - The role of genetics in susceptibility and resilience to trauma Whether you are a researcher, clinician, or simply interested in learning more about the complex relationship between medical and psychological trauma, we invite you to explore the articles and research published in the Journal of Medical and Psychological Trauma.
