Jaw Dislocation
A jaw dislocation is an injury that occurs when the lower jaw (mandible) is forced out of alignment with the upper jaw (maxilla). It is a serious injury that can cause extreme pain, impaired ability to speak and swallow, as well as difficulty breathing. Treatment for a jaw dislocation typically involves resetting the jaw, providing pain relief, and administering antibiotics to reduce the risk of infection. Jaw dislocations can occur as a result of physical trauma, seizures, and certain medical conditions that affect the jaw muscles. It is important to seek medical attention as soon as possible to prevent long-term complications.
