Plagues

Plagues are a group of infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, and parasites that spread quickly and cause catastrophic death and economic losses in a population. Plagues can have a long-term effect on entire ecosystems, affecting both human and animal life. These diseases can cause death, disability, and long-term health problems. Examples of plagues include bubonic plague, smallpox, and Ebola. Prevention, control, and treatment of plagues require a multi-faceted approach, as well as public health measures to reduce the risk of transmission. Early detection and response are also key for controlling plagues, in order to reduce the number of infected people and the spread of the disease.
