Ciliate Protozoans

Ciliate Protozoans are single-celled organisms that contain specialized cells called cilia, which are used for movement and feeding. These protozoa are important components of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, where they play a role in controlling the populations of other microorganisms, including algae and bacteria. They also act as a food source for a variety of animals, from small crustaceans, to fish, frogs and even birds. Furthermore, Ciliate Protozoans are used in studies of cell biology, genetics, and the ecology of freshwater systems.
