Squamous Cell Cancer
Squamous cell cancer is a type of cancer that starts in the squamous cells, which are thin, flat cells that make up the top layer of the skin. It is most commonly found in the head and neck area and can also occur in the lungs, esophagus, and cervix. Squamous cell cancer is typically treated with surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy depending on the type, location, and size of the tumor. Early detection and treatment is important for successful management of this cancer. Squamous cell cancer is responsible for over 25% of all skin cancers, making it one of the most common types.
