Lung Cancer Education
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States and around the world. Education about this potentially devastating disease is critical to its timely diagnosis, treatment and potential prevention. As with other cancers, knowledge about lung cancer risk factors, early warning signs, and the efficacy of smoking cessation are key in encouraging self-care and healthy lifestyle choices. Education efforts can also involve understanding the latest science and technology related to treatments and management of lung cancer in order to make informed decisions about care. Furthermore, lung cancer education is important for improving public health overall through increased awareness of factors that can lead to the disease and its subsequent morbidity and mortality.
