E-cigarettes

E-cigarettes (also known as electronic nicotine delivery systems) are battery-powered devices designed to deliver nicotine to users in the form of an aerosol. They are intended as alternatives to traditional combustible cigarettes and have become increasingly popular among smokers and non-smokers alike. E-cigarettes have been shown to have fewer toxicants than combustible cigarettes and may help with smoking cessation for some individuals. However, the long-term health effects of e-cigarette use are not yet well understood and further research is needed to determine their safety and effectiveness as smoking cessation aids.

Lung cancer is uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells that start off in one or both lungs; usually in the cells that line the air passages. Abnormal cells do not develop into healthy lung tissue, they divide rapidly and form tumors. As tumors become larger and more numerous, they undermine the lung's ability to provide bloodstream with oxygen.
