Speech Language
Pathologist Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) are highly trained medical professionals who specialize in evaluating and treating people with speech, language, and communication disorders. They assess and diagnose communication, cognitive, and swallowing impairments, and then develop individualized treatment plans to help individuals improve their ability to communicate and/or swallow. SLPs also provide therapy to help people with hearing loss, vocal quality problems, stuttering, and other communication disorders. SLPs are often part of a team of health care professionals, such as neurologists and audiologists, working together to provide comprehensive care. SLPs play a vital role in helping people of all ages, from infants to elderly, to participate effectively in social and academic settings.
