Psycholinguistics
Psycholinguistics is the study of the psychological and neural processes underlying language use and acquisition. It is an interdisciplinary field of linguistics, psychology, and neuroscience, and it explores how the mind understands, produces, and acquires language. Psycholinguistic research has implications for a broad range of areas, including language education and therapy, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and psycholinguistic theories of cognition more generally. As such, it provides insights into how language not only influences, but also shapes our thought processes.
