Phonology

Phonology is the study of how sound is used in language. It looks at the patterns of sound in language and how they interact with each other. Phonology is important in helping us to understand how languages are structured and how they change over time. It is also important for the application of language in everyday life, such as in speech and literacy development. Phonology can be used to help develop language-learning strategies, to create pronunciation drills, and to identify and correct mispronounced words. It is also a valuable tool for linguists who study language evolution and for computer scientists who develop speech recognition technology.
