Phonetics is the study of the sounds of human speech and their production, transmission, and perception. It is an important and widely studied area of linguistics, as it helps us better understand the production of speech sounds. Phonetics is used to further our understanding of language, including how and why certain patterns of sound exist in certain languages. It has many applications in fields such as medicine, speech therapy, education, and marketing. It is also used in the development of technologies such as text-to-speech and speech recognition. Phonetics is an invaluable tool for understanding and analyzing the sounds of human language.
