Critical Studies
of power Critical studies of power explore how power is both constructed and contested in various sociocultural contexts. This helps us understand who is in power and how it is used, how those in power exercise control and the various forms of resistance from subordinated groups. Critical studies of power therefore provide important insights into how and why power is distributed unequally and how this can influence social justice. These studies are used to further examine different theories of power and social hierarchies, as well as to inform public policy, activism, and educational initiatives. As such, critical studies of power are essential for understanding the world in which we live.
