MIS in General Surgery
Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) is a new and emerging form of surgical treatment for a variety of surgical procedures. It is a form of surgery that uses small incisions, specialized instruments and even robotic technology, to achieve surgical outcomes with less pain, faster recovery times, and fewer complications. MIS in general surgery is especially beneficial for complex operations on the digestive or abdominal system, such as gall bladder or hernia repair, where traditional "open" surgery would prove very difficult. MIS reduces the amount of time spent in the operating room, reduces post-operative pain and scarring, and can even be done as an outpatient procedure. MIS in general surgery is quickly becoming the preferred method of treatment and is bringing significant improvements in patient care.
