Waterfowl

Waterfowl are a group of birds adapted to living in aquatic environments, both fresh and salt water. They have special anatomical and physiological adaptations to allow them to feed and swim in these habitats. Waterfowl play an important role in the environment, providing food, shelter and other resources for other organisms living in the same areas. Additionally, they provide vital ecosystem services such as pollination, seed dispersal and nutrient cycling. Waterfowl are of significant economic importance due to their use in hunting and fishing, as well as their role in ecotourism. Furthermore, they are important indicators of wetland health, making them an invaluable part of monitoring the health of aquatic ecosystems.
