Songbirds

Songbirds are small birds that are known for their beautiful singing and varied vocalizations. They range in size from tiny hummingbirds to large ravens and crows. Songbirds have some of the most complex vocal learning and memory abilities of any animal. Due to their innate singing and vocal prowess, they are popular as pets and have been used to study the fundamentals of vocal learning in birds. Songbirds also have important roles in their native ecosystems, providing pollination and predation services, as well as being a vital food source for many animals. They are an important indicator species of the environmental health of a region, and their presence can be beneficial for human mental health and wellbeing.
