Predatory Birds
Predatory birds are birds that use hunting and feeding adaptations to capture, kill and consume other animals. These birds are important components of ecosystems by helping to regulate prey populations and maintain healthy food webs. Predatory birds can also provide valuable insight into the overall well-being of an environment, since their presence and health can serve as indicators of a healthy landscape. Predatory birds are found on every continent except Antarctica and in a variety of habitats, from deserts to forests. While some species, such as the Peregrine Falcon, are endangered, many other species, including hawks, eagles, and owls, remain abundant across much of the world.
