Polyomaviruses
Polyomaviruses are a group of small, non-enveloped viruses that infect a variety of animals, including humans. They can cause a number of diseases, including warts, jaundice, and cancer. In humans, polyomaviruses can cause acute or chronic infections and can be spread through contact with an infected person or animal. In addition, polyomaviruses can be found in tumors and may play a role in promoting cancer growth. Polyomaviruses are studied for their role in cancer, as well as their potential use in treating certain types of cancer. Polyomaviruses have also been used to develop vaccine therapies for certain types of cancer. Research continues to explore the potential of polyomaviruses in treating and preventing cancer and other diseases.
