Penguins

Penguins are a group of aquatic, flightless birds living in the Southern Hemisphere. They have adapted to life in the water and on ice-covered land. Penguins are highly sociable and can be found in colonies of many thousands in some habitats. Penguins stand out for their unique flying abilities in water, using their wings to propel them through the water and their webbed feet to help steer. Penguins play an important role in the marine environment by helping to keep the oceans healthy and clean. Penguins are also important to the Antarctic tourism industry. People often visit Antarctica to view the various species of penguins in the wild. They are also popular as pets and used in various studies to help us better understand the effects of global climate change.
