Dairy Science
Dairy science is the study and application of the biological, chemical, and physical principles used in the production, processing, and packaging of milk and milk-based products. It is a multi-disciplinary field, combining aspects of biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Dairy science is important for its contribution to global food security and nutrition, as well as its economic benefits, providing employment in processing and marketing milk and milk products. Dairy science is also applied in animal welfare, environmental management, and the development of new products like cheese, milk powder, and fermented milk. It provides for the safe production and distribution of milk, milk products, and other dairy-based ingredients used in food products.
