Bird Conservation
Bird conservation is the practice of protecting birds and their habitats in order to maintain healthy populations and ecosystems. It is a key component of biodiversity conservation, as bird species play essential roles in ecosystems, and are sentinels of environmental change. Bird conservation is crucial to mitigating human-driven threats to bird populations, such as deforestation and habitat destruction, climate change, pollution, and over-hunting. Many organizations and governments around the world are dedicated to bird conservation, as well as research that aids in understanding bird populations and how best to protect them. Conservation measures can range from local initiatives to international treaties and programs, and can include habitat protection, species reintroduction, captive breeding, and the regulation of hunting.
