Plant Development
Plant Development is the process by which an embryo develops into a mature plant. It includes the regulation of cell division, tissue differentiation, and tissue growth. Plant development plays an important role for plants to adapt to environmental changes and to ensure their survival. It is important for plant nutrition and crop production. Plant development research also provides insight into plant biology, plant pathology and plant genetics. This knowledge can be applied to improve crop yields, increase crop resistance to diseases, and increase food production.
