Plant Community Ecology
Plant community ecology is the branch of ecology that deals with the interactions of plants with their physical and biological environment. It is concerned with the distribution, diversity, and abundance of plant species and their interaction with other organisms, such as animals, microorganisms, and soil. Plant community ecology is important for informing management decisions and restoration efforts, assessing impacts of land use and climate change, and understanding the processes that drive the distribution and abundance of species. In addition, understanding how plants interact with their environment is essential for effective management of natural resources, reducing agricultural losses, and conserving biodiversity.
