Perch
Perch (Perca fluviatilis) is a type of ray-finned fish native to Europe and parts of Asia. It is found in freshwaters such as rivers, streams, and lakes, where it prefers shallow and warm water. Perch are popular among anglers as they are a common target for recreational fishing. They are an important source of food for humans, and provide important economic benefits for local communities. Perch are greenish-brown to olive-green in color and have a distinctive, large dark blotch near the base of the dorsal fin. They are a hardy species, capable of adapting to a wide range of environmental conditions. This ability has made them successful invaders in many parts of the world, and they have been introduced to areas far beyond their native range. As a result, they are considered an ecologically and economically significant species, with the potential for major ecological impacts.
