Oceans

Oceans are the largest bodies of water on Earth and form a significant part of the planet's environment. Oceans cover over two-thirds of the Earth's surface, and are home to a huge variety of plants, animals and other living things. Oceans also provide an important source of food for many people, and are integral to the global water cycle and climate systems. Oceans play a major role in moderating the Earth's climate, absorbing and storing vast amounts of energy from the sun. The ocean’s currents also transport heat and moisture from one part of the world to the other, and are a key factor in regulating the global temperature. Additionally, oceans are a valuable source of minerals and other natural resources for human use. Finally, oceans are a source of inspiration for many, offering breathtaking beauty and relaxation.
