Marine Fossils

Marine fossils are the remains or traces of ancient sea animals and plants that are preserved in rocks on the seafloor. They provide valuable insight into the past history of life on Earth, helping scientists to build an understanding of how the environment and climate have changed over time. Marine fossils also reveal how certain species adapted to different environments and how ancient ecosystems interacted. Additionally, marine fossils are used to understand the movement of tectonic plates, which in turn can provide information about past geological events. Marine fossils are also important economically, as they can be used in the exploration of oil and mineral resources.
