Marine and Aquatic Sciences Biogeochemistry

Marine and Aquatic Biogeochemistry is a scientific field that studies the behavior of chemical elements and compounds in marine and aquatic environments. Its purpose is to ascertain how chemical elements interact with one another and how they interact with the different organisms living in such environments. The knowledge of this field can be used to understand how habitats are changing in response to natural and man-made interventions, and to identify and detect changes in marine and aquatic ecosystems. Moreover, it can help to predict the effects of climate change, pollution, and mining activities in aquatic environments. Marine and Aquatic Biogeochemistry is thus invaluable for understanding and managing marine and aquatic ecosystems.
